Belfast rap trio Kneecap are set to release their forthcoming album Fenian on April 24, 2026, via Heavenly Recordings, with the first single “Liars Tale” already generating buzz. Following their critically acclaimed 2024 album Fine Art, Fenian represents a bold, defiant statement from the group after a year marked by political controversy and outspoken commentary. The album’s title reclaims the historic term “Fenian,” once a slur against Irish nationalists, now embraced by the band as a symbol of resistance.

Produced by Dan Carey, known for his work with Fontaines D.C. and Black Midi, Fenian spans 14 tracks and features collaborations with Kae Tempest, Ramallah rapper Fawzi, and Irish folk artist Radie Peat. Musically, the album blends hip-hop with punk-rave energy, acid house textures, and trip-hop atmospheres, reflecting Kneecap’s evolving sound and artistic ambition. Lead single “Liars Tale,” released alongside a striking music video directed by Thomas James, addresses contemporary politics and social issues with sharp, confrontational lyrics.

The album arrives after a turbulent period for the trio, including performance bans in some countries and legal scrutiny in 2025, which the band firmly denies relate to extremist activity. Kneecap’s statement emphasizes resilience: “They tried to stop us… and failed.” With pre-orders now available on vinyl and digital platforms, the music community eagerly awaits how Fenian will shape the group’s trajectory and cement their status as provocateurs in the contemporary hip-hop scene.
